Humans lit the fire 790000 years ago
A new study shows that humans had the skill of lighting a fire 790000 years ago, an important ability which facilitated their migration process from Africa to Europe
The research of silexes discovered within the archeological site on the Jordan river bank has revealed to scholars of the Israel Jewish University the fact that the first civilizations have learned how to light a fire very early, an advantage which has allowed them to venture into the exploration and occupation of new territories. A previous study, carried out in 2004, has shown that the people knew how to preserve the fire around the same period. However, the recent discovery indicates that they were familiar with the very process of producing it, not only relying on natural phenomena such as thunder.
